Lanie McAuley is an actress and singer based in Los Angeles. She is best known for her recurring role as musician Emma Rogers on Hallmark's Chesapeake Shores, and as Liza in the Netflix apocalypse drama How It Ends starring Forest Whitaker. Originally from Vancouver, McAuley got her start in entertainment when she booked a Mattel commercial at the age of one. She proceeded to work on over 100 commercials as a child and teenager, namely for Barbie and Bratz dolls. After attaining her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Sauder School of Business at UBC, she turned her attention to film & TV. Before moving to Los Angeles, McAuley spent 3 years living in Nashville, where she wrote and recorded music for her pop project, MCAULEY. She released her first single in 2019, titled "Animal."

Her theater credits include Laura Marks' BETHANY, starring America Ferrera (WP Theater, 2 Lortel Award nominations); Emmy-winner Ted Greenberg's ACE (Annenberg Center in Philadelphia, Off-Broadway); and the Brooklyn premiere of CAROLINE, OR CHANGE. Lanie was the co-founder and producing director of Voices Inside/Out, a playwriting exchange program at a Kentucky prison. Participating actors included Michael Shannon, Michael Chernus, Ashlie Atkinson, Teddy Sears, Ron Canada and more. She produced PEN America's Prison Justice Awards in 2020. With comedy group Recent Cutbacks, she produced the Audible Original, Master Lecture Series: History of the 3rd Robot War. Lanie was a Time Warner Foundation Fellow of the 2012-2014 Lab at WP Theater, NYC. Her novel ME AND THE MOON was one of six finalists for The Write Stuff through MTV Books/Simon & Schuster. Lanie passed away on June 25th, 2022, when she succumbed to her injuries from a hit-and-run accident in Memphis, TN that also took the life of her mother, Lucy. She touched the lives of hundreds with her kindness and generosity of spirit. We miss her so much.
