Rhona Rees
Rhona Rees is an award winning performer, writer and director with more than 27 years experience in front of the camera and behind the mic. She was a child actor in Australia and her first role at the age of 11 was the lead in a film with Australian screen legend Ernie Dingo. She enjoyed a busy career in Australia, with lead and supporting roles in series like Ocean girl, Blabbermouth and Stickybeak and High Flyers, before moving to Vancouver, BC in 2012. Rhona is well known for her voice work which includes animated series like The dragon Prince, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Lego Ninjago, Polly Pocket and Littlest Pet Shop. Rhona also voices video games (Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Extraction, Dragalia Lost) and hundreds of commercials (Hyundai, Chromebook, Huggies and Manulife to name a few). In 2021 Rhona began working as a voice director. She has directed specials for Mattel, CBC and co-directed a game for Nintendo with her colleague Adrienne Lindsay. As well as her work as a performer, Rhona is an emerging screenwriter and director. Her short film FREYA has won multiple awards at film festivals around the world - including Newport Beach Film Festival, Fantasia Film Festival and Etheria. It was acquired by CBC Gem in Canada and Dust worldwide excluding Canada. Rhona won the AACTA & Monster Pictures 'Mother' pitch competition in 2022 and is currently adapting FREYA the short into a feature. Rhona's subsequent short film, Call Button, which she wrote and directed, will play Mammoth Film Festival in 2023. Rhona also writes for animation and developed a 2D kids series with WildBrain studios in 2020. Rhona is an improviser and competed in 2019 in the Vancouver Improv League as captain of the English Bay Blues. She is also a dialect coach, voice teacher and co-creator of Mistressclass, an educational webinar series for the film industry.

Ms. Baraka's episodic writing credits include BET's TALES and Bounce TV's SAINTS AND SINNERS. Her additional directing credits include DOWNSIZED (TV ONE), starring Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe, and the star-studded PRIDE AND PREJUDICE: ATLANTA (Lifetime), an updated version of the Jane Austen classic, starring Jackee Harry, Reginald Vel Johnson, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Timon Durrett, Tiffany Hines and Juan Antonio. Ms. Baraka also created the popular UP TV Chandler Family Christmas movie franchise, starring Malinda Williams, Victoria Rowell and Greg Alan Williams. She wrote all five installments and directed the final three. Ms. Baraka, a native of Tuskegee, Alabama, endeavors to tell stories that represent a unique female voice and embrace her southern roots.
