Samantha Wan is a Toronto-based actor-filmmaker. Co-creator and star of prime time comedy series, Second Jen, on CityTV. She also plays reoccurring character "Zoe Chow" in season two of Canada's hit series Private Eyes. She graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada in 2011 then made her debut playing a principal role in the feature Devil's Mile and later moved to online series such as Leslieville, Ruby Skye P.I. and Out With Dad. Her first project Sudden Master was an online Kung Fu series commissioned by OMNI TV. It accumulated numerous awards including "Best Action Series" at the Action On Film Festival and Vancouver Webfest. The AOF festival also awarded Wan with the "Woman With A Vision" Award for her work as a producer and creator and best Female Action Performer of the Year. Samantha also won Best Actress in a Drama at the 2016 Hollyweb Festival for Sudden Master. Behind the camera, Wan co-directed the shorts "Where is Kitty Go Lightly" and "Second Jen Short film" (2014). Samantha is also a dancer, with a particular love for jazz and urban street dance. A fourth generation martial artist, studying Wing Chun under Grand Master Sunny Tang. Coupled with her fight skills, Wan is a certified combatant for stage and screen with Fight Directors of Canada.

Samantha Gail Weinstein was born on March 20, 1995 in Toronto, Canada. An actor since the age of six, she is best known for her roles as Heather in MGM's remake of Carrie (2013), Audrey in Jesus Henry Christ (2011), and Josephine in the TIFF award winning short film, Big Girl (2005). Big Girl also won Samantha the 2006 ACTRA award for Best Performance-Female. Having won the award at age ten, she is the youngest recipient to date. Other notable film roles include Brooke in the independent feature, Reign (2015), Violet in The Rocker (2008), and young Hagar in Margaret Atwood's The Stone Angel (2007). Some of Samantha's television credits include guest roles on Being Erica, Less Than Kind, Copper, and Darknet. Darknet marked Samantha's second project with Canadian director Vincenzo Natali, the first being the independent feature, Haunter (2013). She is also an avid voice performer and has voiced numerous animated characters during her career. As lead singer/songwriter and lead guitarist, Samantha founded the Toronto based, garage rock band, Killer Virgins, in April of 2016. On May 14th, 2023 Samantha died from ovarian cancer after bravely fighting for two and a half years. She died at Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Samantha Win Tjhia (formerly Samantha Jo) was born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada to a Chinese father and Caucasian/Canadian mother, Charles and Leslie. She has two older brothers who reside in Toronto with the rest of her family. Samantha started acted at the age of 10, appearing in several toy commercials and print ads after winning Talent Search Canada 2001. She started martial arts at the age of 4 with Jiu Jitsu, but by the age of 17 she had become a competitive Wushu athlete- winning multiple medals at National, Pan-American and International levels and competed for Canada in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Wushu tournament. This afforded her the opportunity to move to Los Angeles as a stunt double and now, lead actress. She is known for her proficiency in the action genre and accredits her background in stunt work for this. Samantha continues to gain momentum and excel with her no-quit work ethic and passion for the arts.
